A fire which broke out near Monagrouli around 13.35 pm on Thursday was fully contained ninety minutes later having burnt four hectares of low, wild vegetation, reeds and bushes, the Forestry Department said.
Twenty four fire fighters from the Forestry Department and the fire services with seven fire trucks attended the fire. They were assisted by four water dropping aircraft.
Volunteers from the area contributed to the effort with tractors.
