Mitsero Community Council and S.A.S sports will organise the second Mitsero Mine Run on February 10.
Mitsero Mine Run is a cross country race on easy forest roads suitable for runners of all levels.
It consists of a 21 km run, a 12 km run, a 5,5 km run and a Kids run.
The route that has been chosen highlights the history of Mitsero village, and rewards runners with unparalleled beautiful images and colours.
The first Mitsero Mine Run took place last year. According to community leader Sotiris Mavros around 350 runners from Cyprus and abroad participated.
This year’s runs start and finish at the Mitsero central square.
Runners will first head towards the ‘red lake,’ the ‘Kokkinopezoula’ mine which is 1 km outside the village. Then, they will cross a forest road which runs through the “Kokkinogeia” mine. After, they will head towards Rodanos river and Ayios Panteleimonas monastery.
During the last part of the run, participants will enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains and will finish the run at Mitsero.
