A number of flights are planned in the next few days, mainly from the UK and Greece, to repatriate Cypriots and legal residents, the Transport and Foreign Ministries said in a joint announcement on Wednesday.

The flights will repatriate people belonging to vulnerable groups, students registered on foundation courses or in their first year of undergraduate studies and who live in university halls, people who have expressed an interest through the Foreign Ministry’s platform to repatriate by April 30 as well as holders of certificates as per decrees, the announcement said.

More specifically flights will be held among other cities, from London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Athens and Thessaloniki.

Depending on needs that may arise, flights will be carried out from other airports too, it added.

Under the procedure, airline companies will contact interested parties to inform them about their flight.

All arriving passengers are quarantined for 14 days in facilities monitored by the state.
