Ministry clarifies distancing rules

With most retail shops and the construction sector reopening tomorrow, the Health Ministry has reiterated that there can be only one person per eight square metres in any area serving the public.

This includes the citizen’s service centres, post offices, courier offices, banks, shops and places where utility and other bills are paid (eg Cyta, EAC, local authorities).

The above applies only to the areas serving the public and not to offices at various organisations or private companies.

But at all work areas, there must be at least two metres distance between each person. Moreover all safety and personal protection measures as per instructions on the PIO’s coronavirus website.
