Preliminary data from the Met Department shows that rainfall is at 119% compared to average levels for the period from October 1, 2019, until March 12, 2020.
In particular, total rainfall from October 1 until this morning was recorded at 522.3 millimetres compared to 437.5 millimetres which is the norm as per historical data from the period 1961-1990.
The Frenaros station recorded the highest percentage of rainfall since October 1 at 151%, followed by Larnaca Airport with 145% and Kellaki with 144% of normal levels.
Total rainfall from March 1 until today was recorded at 2.1 millimetres. Normal rainfall levels for the month of March based on historical data is 61.9 millimetres.
