The Met Office has issued two yellow alerts warning of strong winds and heavy rain.
In the first, in force from 7.30 pm on Thursday to 7.30 am on Friday the Met Office said near gale and temporarily up to gale northeasterly to easterly winds with mean speed 7 to 8 Beaufort and gusts up to 9 Beaufort, are expected to affect mainly the mountains and locally the windward coastal areas.
The heavy rainfall warning is in effect from 9 pm on Thursday to 8 am on Friday. The Met Office said rain, at times and isolated thunderstorms are expected to affect the area. The total rain accumulation is locally likely to exceed 50 millimetres in a six hour period.
Be aware of the potential for localised flooding of a small number of properties, with local disruption to outdoor activities. Difficult driving conditions due to reduced visibility and aquaplaning, it said.
