The met office on Friday issued yet another yellow alert, warning that thunderstorms are likely, mainly on the east and south coasts.
It said that the precipitation may locally exceed 35 millimetres per hour.
The yellow alert came into force at 11 am and is valid until 4 pm today.
Earlier the met office said Friday will start off mainly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, becoming gradually partly cloudy by the afternoon.
Temperatures will be 17 C inland and on the coasts and 5 C in the mountains.
