Medical equipment, consumables from China to arrive in Larnaca

Relevant News

An Aegean airlines aircraft carrying medical supplies from China through Athens will land at Larnaca airport in the small hours of Saturday, the CNA reports.

The shipment expected to arrive around 3 am comprises around nine tonnes of medical equipment, some of it purchased by the Ministry of Health and part donated by the Chinese Embassy in Nicosia and the House of Representatives.

The cargo contains surgical masks, high-protection masks and uniforms, special protective glasses and swabsticks for sample-taking.

Another flight carrying medical equipment from China had also arrived last week in Larnaca.

On March 28 in a telephone communication with President Anastasiades, the Chairman of Aegean Eftychios Vasilakis declared the company’s readiness to transport medical equipment from China to Cyprus for free in collaboration with energy company Hellenic Petroleum.
