Measures for health professionals who are not in compliance

Relevant News

About 25-30% of health professionals are not at their posts in public hospitals among the Covid-19 pandemic either justifiably because they belong to vulnerable groups or by presenting various excuses, philenews reports.

Speaking on state radio, Okypy executive director for Larnaca and Famagusta George Karotsakis said that everyone in a position, by medical council decision, to offer their services need to do so straightaway, otherwise measures will be taken.

He said that already several professionals have been reprimanded verbally who then returned to their positions, and for other cases warning letters will be sent out.

He noted that the Ministry of Health’s call to service of all medical professionals does not only apply to the private sector but also public hospital staff.

Karotsakis warned that in cases of non-compliance he does not exclude the possibility of police involvement due to disobedience to the decree.
