Nicolas Constantinou, 19, died on Sunday evening after he lost control of his motorcycle on Iosif Hadjiosif Avenue in Nicosia and crashed into an electricity post.
His 19-year-old pillion rider is in serious condition in Nicosia General Hospital, police also said on Monday.
Investigations into the cause of the fatal accident which took place around 11pm are ongoing.
