Nicosia Criminal Court on Friday sentenced a 29 year old man to nine years in jail for drug possession.
A second man, aged 22, was jailed for nine months.
The first defendant was arrested when he was handing over 329.9 grams of cannabis to the second defendant. Police later also found in his possession 695 grams of cocaine and another 1.5 kilos of cannabis.
In its decision, the criminal court highlighted the seriousness of the offences, particularly that of possession with intent to supply and said it was essential that sentences act as a deterrent.
