Man driving six times over alcohol limit crashes into house fence in Paralimni

Relevant News

A 41-year-old man in Paralimni driving with a level of alcohol in his system about six times over the legal limit has crashed his car twice but only sustained minor injuries.

The incident took place around 9:30 pm on Tuesday on the coastal city’s Psaron Street and the driver had a final reading of 123μg% instead of the legal 22μg%.

The highly intoxicated driver seems to have lost control of the vehicle which first veered off its course and hit a wooden fence of a house and then moved further down before stopping on a second home’s wall.

As a result of the crash, the driver was trapped in his vehicle and the intervention of members of the Fire Department became necessary. He was taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital where he received first aid and got discharged.

He was then taken into custody and got charged before being released. He will appear before a district court later.
