A 38 year old man from Limassol is under arrest on suspicion of sexually abusing his 17 year old step daughter, Phileleftheros reported on Wednesday.
It said that the man was arrested on Tuesday after the girl, accompanied by her mother, filed a complaint with police.
She told Limassol CID that her step father had sexually abused her on several occasions in the past three years. The alleged offences occurred when her mother was away from home.
According to Phileleftheros, the girl told her mother and a private psychologist, and then went to the police.
The newspaper said the man was arrested on Tuesday and appeared before Limassol District Court which referred him straight to trial before the Criminal Court on March 18.
He faces charges of sexual abuse of a minor and indecent assault and is being held in custody. He denies the charges.
