The suspension of two doctors at Makarion Hospital, Nicosia, over the death of a 15-year-old girl with kidney failure was nullified on Thursday by an Administrative Court.
The two were suspended in mid-October but the Court ruled no proper investigation was carried out. They are expected to go back to work on Friday.
Defense lawyer Elias Stefanou said “the two doctors will return to their duties and the investigation of the case will continue.”
The Public Service Commission had ordered the investigation in connection with the teenager’s death following her kidney transplant at the hospital in March.
During the surgery doctors found that the girl, Ioanna Skordi, had tumours. She died a few days later on March 4.
A few days later her parents filed charges against medical staff accusing them of negligence.
