Mainly fine, some dust and possibility of showers in the afternoon

Weak low pressure is affecting the area and there will be light dust in the atmosphere at intervals which on Friday may increase, the Met Office said.

Wednesday will be mainly fine, but clouds that develop at midday and in the afternoon are expected to lead to isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly inland and in the mountains.

Temperatures will rise to 23 C inland, around 21 C on the coast and around 16 C in the mountains.

Tonight will see increased high cloud at intervals. Temperatures will drop to 9 C inland and the west and north coasts, around 10 C on the remaining coasts and around 4 C in the mountains.

On Thursday, there will be increased high cloud while late in the afternoon and in the evening there may be isolated, mainly light, showers.

Friday and Saturday will be partly cloudy and at intervals cloudy with local showers and/or isolated thunderstorms.

On Saturday there may be snowfall or sleet in the higher Troodos peaks.

Temperatures will remain at the same levels on Thursday at a little below average for the time of year,  edging further down until Saturday.
