Low pressure system, dusty and humid reaching 36

A humid day with dust persisting in the atmosphere till late afternoon is forecast by the Met Office as a low pressure system continues to affect the region.

Initially clear skies, turning increasingly cloudy in the west and north, with a thin layer of dust expected to clear out as early evening sets in.

Winds will start out westerly to northwesterly and in the south and east, light variable force three, later turning light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly and in southwestern coastal regions, moderate to strong force four to five, over calm to slight seas, turning slight in windward regions during the afternoon.

Temperatures will rise to 36 degrees Celsius inland, 33 over the southern, eastern and northern coastal areas, 30 in the west and 29 on the mountains.

Mostly clear skies this evening, with increasingly low cloud in the west and north, with thin mist forming in the early hours, inland and eastern areas.

Temperatures will drop to 23 degrees Celsius inland, the west and north, 24 over south and east and 20 on the mountains.

Similar outlook over the next couple of days, turning increasingly cloudy over the mountains, as temperatures are forecast to rise slightly, reaching well over the seasonal average.

Isolated showers or storms are expected on Tuesday mainly over the mountains and in certain inland regions in the second half of the day, as temperatures drop to early September standards.
