The government will ensure that all those who receive financial support from the social welfare services and are entitled for an additional Christmas bonus will get this on time.
This is what an insider told Philenews on Thursday, almost a week after Cabinet approved the Christmas bonus – the total expenditure of which will amount to €17,538,000 this year.
Last year, the bonus which goes to recipients of the guaranteed minimum income and of public assistance amounted to €16,347,000.
The bonus is equal to the amount of low-income pension, with a minimum of €100.
The same insider said the “gift” will be ready for distribution from December 11 and is expected to reach all those eligible by December 18.
