Lockdown exit being finalised, decisions tomorrow

Relevant News

Officials on Tuesday urged patience until tomorrow when the Council of Ministers meets to approve Cyprus’ exit from the lockdown.

No decisions have been yet been taken, government spokesman Kyriakos Koushos told CyBC TV at midday after the scientific committee briefed President Nicos Anastasiades on the coronavirus outbreak in Cyprus.

He said the briefing had been extensive, focusing on both the easing of the measures and restarting the economy.

The ministerial committee drafting the lockdown exit strategy is putting the final touches to the proposal which will go to the Council of Ministers tomorrow.

The decisions will then be announced by the president himself tomorrow.

Earlier today, deputy government spokesman Panayiotis Sentonas told reporters that the president’s meeting with the scientific committee today was attended also by the ministers of health and finance.
