Limassol traffic police launch road safety campaign, 25 e-scooter users also fined

Limassol traffic police on Wednesday launched a 24-hour campaign aiming to reduce fatal road accidents and fined dozens of drivers breaking the rules as well as 25 individuals on e-scooters.

The campaign, covering the coastal city’s centre only, was carried out between 7am and 7pm, according to Philenews.

Police said seven high-powered motorcycles and five cars deemed unfit to be on the road were also seized.

And 97 drivers were reported for various traffic offences, along with 25 citizens riding personal mobility devices (e-scooters).

The traffic police ‘s campaign will continue in coming days.
