Fire fighters were able to put out a fire which broke out in the Sfalangiotissa area north of Ayios Athanasios in Limassol on Tuesday. The fire was put under control around 3.00 pm after seven fire trucks and two helicopters battled with the flames. Fire Department personnel remain on site to prevent the fire from starting up again.
The fire burnt three hectares of land with wild vegetation. No houses were in danger.
