Fire fighters who responded to a fire at a Limassol apartment found the resident, an 85 year old Briton, unconscious in the bathroom.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital where he was taken by ambulance.
Philenews reports that at around 23.30 on Saturday evening, the fire services had responded to a fire after smoke was spotted at an apartment in the Ayios Nicolaos area.
After putting out the fire in the bedroom, the unconscious man was found in the bathroom.
Police said that the man did not have any burns and the exact cause of death will be determined by a post-mortem.
At first sight, all possibilities are being examined. The fire services are investigating the cause of the fire.
