Two men, aged 25 and 64, were remanded in custody for six days by Larnaca district court on Saturday on suspicion of possessing 85 grams of cannabis.
The two were arrested after police on Friday searched their house after a tip off.
The 25 year old tried to flee and was stopped by the anti-narcotics police officers whom he assaulted.
During a search, police found three nylon bags hidden in the garden which contained 85 grams of cannabis.
The 64 year old was also arrested.
The younger suspect allegedly admitted possessing the cannabis while the 64 year old denies any involvement.
The two were remanded in custody. The 25 year old is also being investigated for resisting arrest.
