A passenger due to fly from Larnaca Airport to Bucharest on a repatriation flight today ended up in hospital instead because of flu-like symptoms, CNA reports.
It said the flight was due to take off at 11 am for Bucharest with 149 passengers who were stranded in Cyprus because of the coronavirus pandemic.
However, one of the passengers — a 47 year old foreign national was exhibiting flu like symptoms, including coughing and fatigue, and the crew would not agree to him boarding.
He was examined by a medical professional at the airport and then taken by ambulance to Larnaca Airport for tests.
The airport areas used by the passenger were disinfected and the airplane left at noon, CNA added.
