Larnaca has received a Green City award for its “Municipal solid waste reduction programme, coastal hotel units and nearby areas waste-generating areas,” a written statement said on Thursday.
“For the third consecutive year, Larnaca is honoured as a Green City by the Scientific Evaluation Committee for Cyprus Cypriot Green Cities & Green Communities Awards,” the statement also said.
Larnaca municipality’s solid waste reduction programme is implemented by the Department of Cleanliness and the Department of Environmental Management in cooperation with the country’s Department of Environment.
