Large development projects worth €35 million that will be implemented within 2023 will upgrade coastal Paralimni municipality but also the tourist area of Protaras and Kaparis.

This is what Philenews reported on Monday, adding that the Paralimni municipality’s €35million budget for the new year is the fourth largest island-wide, according to mayor Theodoros Pyrillis.

“Our vision is through the planned infrastructure projects to create the conditions for the economic, cultural and social upgrading of Paralimni and the entire free Famagusta district,” he said.

“This aims to enable our children and grand children to stay, work and live where they are born and raised,” he added.

One of the most impressive projects that will start within the next year is the rejuvenation of the historic center of Paralimni.

This will cover an area of ​​one square kilometer and includes commercial streets as well.

The project is divided into two phases, with the first, which will cost €9 million is expected to start in September 2023 and be completed within 2025.

Right now, construction plans are being drafted with tenders to be announced soon.
