Kiosks association issues list of products they can sell on Sundays

The Association of Continuous Services Shops issued on Friday a list of products that kiosks are allowed to sell, as they are the only food and drink retail businesses allowed to remain open on Sunday as per the relevant government decree to contain the spread of Covid-19.

In an announcement, the association said that due to confusion among consumers as to which retail products kiosks are allowed to sell, it clarifies that those are the following:

  • Newspapers, magazines, digital storage devices
  • Cigarettes, cigars, tobacco and rolling cigarette paraphernalia, lighters, fuel for lighters and other associated tobacco products

  • Batteries, flashlights, light bulbs, adapters, sockets, fluorescent starters, extension cables, watches, alarm clocks, small calculators and small radios
  • Film, single use cameras, blank audio and video cassettes, blank CDs and floppy disks

  • Prepaid telephony packages, mobile phone accessories, telecards, fax and photocopy services
  • Bandages, cotton, first aid products, condoms, sanitary pads, diapers for children and adults, toilet paper, napkins, tissues, shaving products, deodorants, shampoos, soaps, oral hygiene products, hand creams, nail polishes, pantyhose, hair beauty products, combs, hair brushes
  • Stationery, mail products, stamps, maps, greeting cards and playing cards
  • Christmas and Easter products, balloons, tourist products, carnival and beach products, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, canes, nail clippers, key rings, fake jewellery and worry beads

  • Charcoal, grill motors, fire starter tablets, single use cutlery, plates and glasses, gas bottles, foil, trash bags, kitchen gloves, washing up liquid
  • Lottery tickets, gifts and toys except electronic toys and outdoor toys, gift wrapping products
  • Milk (fresh or otherwise), cured meats, eggs, jam, butter, margarine, honey, sauces, instant soup, edible oil up to 1L, and sachets and cans of pre-cooked food and dessert
  • Tea, instant coffee, sugar and its substitutes, salt and brewed coffee
  • Soft drinks, juices, bottled water, pre-made coffee, isotonic drinks, ice creams, beer, ice, and alcoholic drinks with less than 5% alcohol
  • Chocolate and chocolate products, biscuits, candy, crisps and associated products, croissants, dried cereal breakfast products, crackers and packaged nuts
  • Dog and cat food
  • Baby food
  • Washing products in solid or liquid form no more than 2kg or 2L respectively
