A fast forest fire service response prevented a potentially destructive fire from spreading this morning.
It broke out at the Falkonopetra area of the Kakoratzia state forest at around 10.15 and was placed under control just half an hour later, with ground forces encircling the flames.
The forestry department responded with 8 people in 3 vehicles.
An investigation on the cause is still on-going.
