The Met office recorded rainfall, which most of the times was accompanied by storms in 24 out of 31 days in January, it said in an announcement on Tuesday.
The only dates when it didn’t rain anywhere in Cyprus in January were the 9th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 20th, 21st and 25th.
Snowfall was recorded between the 1st-8th, 13th-16th and on the 19th, 23rd, 27th, 30th and 31st of January.
Also, on the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 16th, 22nd, 30th and 31st of January there was hail.
On the 2nd, 14th and 15th of January, the Met office issued a yellow alert for strong winds and heavy rain.
February
Regarding the seasonal forecast for the period of the three first months of the year (January, February and March 2019), the temperature is expected to be generally above normal by 1 to 2°C.
