A 47 year old Israeli holidaymaker is in Paphos Hospital with fractures after he fell on rocks near Aphrodite’s Baths in the Akamas and was brought to safety by the fire service and the coastguard late on Wednesday evening, the Cyprus News Agency reports.
The tourist slipped and fell into a ravine near the camping site in the Kakoskali area of the Baths of Aphrodite, injuring himself on the rocks.
The fire services sent a response team which used ropes to approach the man, placed him on a stretcher and carried him to a small dinghy which transferred the man to a coastguard patrol boat with a doctor on board, some 100 metres at sea.
He was taken to Latchi fishing shelter and from there to hospital by ambulance. His condition is described as out of danger.
