Israel and UK get new passengers categorisation based on their Covid-19 situation

Cyprus’ new categorisation of countries according to the current Covid-19 situation in their territory sees Israel moving from orange to the Green category and the United Kingdom from red to the orange one.

In effect as of Thursday, the changes mean that all passengers coming from Israel are not required to submit a COVID-19 certificate or stay self-isolated.

And all passengers from the UK must undergo a PCR test 72 hours before departure and have a certificate that shows a negative Coronavirus result.

However, Cypriot citizens coming from the UK might undergo the molecular examination after entering the Republic. They should pay themselves for the examination costs.

The Mediterranean island’s Epidemiological Monitoring Unit of the Ministry of Health is the one that carries the reassessment.

Taking into account a country’s epidemiological risk, the Health Ministry has made a division into Green, Orange, Red, and Grey categories.

The new categorisation of countries announced by the government is as follows:

Red Category that represents countries with a higher risk than the Green and Orange Categories includes Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Croatia, Luxemburg, Romania, Spain, Italy, Greece, Malta, Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czechia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Germany (EU Member States).

In addition, Andorra, Monaco, Vatican City, San Marino (micro-states) and Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway (Schengen Member States).
