Iraqi-Swedish brothers hospitalised after serious quad bike accident in Cape Greco area

Two Iraqi brothers who live in Sweden are hospitalized after the quad bike the older one was driving on Monday ‘dived’ into a 10-metre deep cliff in Ayia Napa’s Cape Greco area.

The 32-year-old driver is in extremely serious condition with head injuries and the younger one, aged 22, has suffered arm and back injuries but is out of danger, authorities said on Tuesday.

Their parents have been informed of the serious accident and are on their way to Cyprus, Philenews also reported.

The two injured brothers were taken by ambulance to the district’s Famagusta General Hospital but the older one was rushed to Nicosia General Hospital due to the seriousness of his condition.

Traffic Police are investigating the circumstances behind the accident which- at first glance – appears to be the outcome of excessive speed.

The two brothers arrived in Cyprus on August 4 and would were due to fly back to Sweden on August 11 (Thursday).
