The Department of Town Planning and Housing announced that two agreements were signed on Thursday, between the Department and Company M. BAKALIAOS AND SONS LTD for the installation of eight elevators in a corresponding number of buildings in government housing estates of the Districts of Nicosia and Limassol which are eligible.
The first agreement has to do with the installation of elevators in four buildings in the government housing estate of Athalassa and a building in the government housing estate of Agios Georgios in Nicosia, for a total of 821,511.72 plus VAT. The relevant work is expected to be completed in 14 months.
The second agreement has to do with the installation of elevators in two buildings in the government housing estate Makarios III and a building in the government housing estate of Agios Ioannis in Limassol, for a total of 649,337.30 plus VAT. The relevant work is expected to be completed in 14 months.
Within the framework of this programme, another project is also in progress regarding the installation of elevators and other relevant work in nine buildings in the housing estate Kokkines in Nicosia for a total of 1,479,914.36 plus VAT.
Furthermore, another two tenders will be launched for the installation of elevators in another 13 buildings, while a study for the installation of elevators in another 30 buildings in Nicosia, Larnaca, and Limassol is also in progress.
