Labour inspectors on Thursday issued a fine to a supermarket manager because staff members were not wearing masks.
In addition, they closed down three construction sites and issued a fine
Overall, the inspectors carried out 469 checks — 405 of them in shops. They found a very satisfactory level of compliance with some exceptions. However, an administrative fine was issued to the manager of a Nicosia supermarket as staff were not wearing masks.
The inspectors checked 64 construction sites and found improved compliance compared to previous days.
Three construction sites — two in Nicosia and one in Paphos — were closed down because they did have the required hygiene facilities and workers were not keeping a distance between them.
An out of court fine was issued to an individual in charge at a site.
Labour inspections will continue.
