2023 UK tourism to Cyprus indications are all positive despite inflation

Relevant News

All indications are that tourism from the United Kingdom next year will be good despite the prevailing rising inflation and looming recession, according to Deputy Tourism Minister Savvas Perdios.

“Indications are that the tourist flow from our main market will not be particularly affected negatively next year,” Perdios who is visiting London said on Tuesday.

“2023 is definitely expected to be an equally difficult year for tourism because of the geopolitical instability and rising inflation. However, I have to say that there doesn’t seem to be any concern from the UK market for 2023,” he added.

Perdios is in London for the World Travel Market exhibition.

He also said that price rises are everywhere, but, as far as tourism goes nothing alarming for 2023 was reported from any tour operator and this is interpreted as quite positive.

He also referred to a new tourism agreement between Cyprus and Jordan which was formalized at a special event on Monday, again in London.

This aims to offer joint packages to foreign markets. He also disclosed that following this agreement a visit to the USA is imminent so as to also meet with airlines officials.
