Indian jailed for 15 years for manslaughter

The Larnaca -Famagusta Criminal Court on Wednesday jailed a 22 year old Indian man for 15 years after he pleaded guilty to killing another Indian in Dherynia on January 4, 2017.

Besides the manslaughter charge, the defendant had also pleased guilty to possessing a weapon and causing serious bodily harm. It followed a fight between two rival groups during which a 23 year old Indian was fatally stabbed. 

The defendant was arrested on January 5 at Pergamos by  British Base police as he tried to cross over into the Turkish occupied areas.
