Authorities took down a well organised illicit gaming service at the Xylofagou community in the free Famagusta area, confiscating computers, cash and documents making up a practice of electronic gambling as well as other similar activities.
After looking into the credibility of certain reports, members of the Crime Prevention Squad raided a building late yesterday afternoon, finding seven computers, more than 3,500 euro in cash and a number of relevant documents.
One individual was caught on an electronic gambling machine.
The 42 year old owner of the illegal casino was charged with offences relating to violations of the betting and gambling legislation and will appear before a court at a later date.
The Xylofagou precinct is investigating.
