A 35-year-old hunter from Paphos district was fined €500 for using a machine which mimics the sounds of various birds, a forbidden hunting practice, police said on Monday.
Members of the Game Fund who were out on patrol to combat poaching noticed a person with a gun in an area near Timi where hunting is allowed.
When they came closer, they heard bird sounds at a high volume, coming from a bird sound machine. The device was in his possession.
