House Speaker to travel to Dublin for event on Dáil’s 100th year celebration

House Speaker Dimitris Syllouris travels to Dublin on Saturday for an event to mark the Irish Parliament, Dail, 100th year celebrations, following an invitation by Seán Ó Fearghaíl, the chairperson of Dáil Éireann.

The celebrations include a joint meeting of the Dail Eireann and the Seanad Éireann ( Senate) which will be addressed by the President of Ireland, Michael Higgins. The Heads of Parliaments who will attend the meeting, will also be received by the Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.

Syllouris, according to a press release by the House, will hold contacts with Denis O’ Donovan, the Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann, Senator Frank Feighan who is Head of the Cyprus-Ireland Friendship Group as well as Pat Breen, Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection.

House Speaker will also meet with Mary Buckley, Executive Director at IDA Ireland.

He returns home January 24.
