The Forestry Department has promptly re-planted hectares of burnt forest land in Kornos area after a fierce fire in May last year, it was announced on Wednesday.
The fire which raged just off the Nicosia-Limassol highway, close to Kakoratzia, had burnt 59.14 hectares of land.
The severity of the fire had caused sections of the highway to be closed for around four hours until the fire was brought under control.
The fire began as a result of a car accident on the highway.
