Heavy rain in Troodos Mountains

As temperatures soared to 40 C inland and the met office issued a yellow alert, heavy rain has been falling in the mountains, particularly in Platres and Moniatis.

Residents from the mountain communities posted photos and videos of the deluge.

In its weather forecast for Wednesday, the met office had said that rain and storms were possible in the mountains.
