Heavy rain and hail lashed Nicosia around midday on Thursday, as the Met Office issued a yellow alert warning of thunderstorms.
The alert is in force from 12 noon until 6 pm today.
According to the latest forecast, the afternoon will be mainly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms which will be accompanied by hail.
Tonight will be partly cloudy and isolated showers are forecast mainly in the coastal areas.
Temperatures will fall to 8 C inland, around 9 C on the south coasts, around 10 C on the remaining coasts and 3 C in the mountains.
Tomorrow will be mainly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms which will be accompanied by hail. Temperatures tomorrow will rise to 18 C inland and on the coasts and around 8 C in the mountains.
The weekend will be mainly fine with increased cloud at intervals which may lead to isolated showers. Monday will be mainly fine.
Temperatures will rise on Saturday to close to average for the time of year, remaining at the same levels on Sunday and Monday.
