Health Minister, Michalis Hadjipantela, has condemned the loss of human lives during the Russian invasion of Ukraine and underlined his support to the people of Ukraine, during his intervention in the 75th World Health Assembly organized every year by the World Health Organization.
The Minister referred to his own memories as a refugee after the 1974 Turkish invasion, stating that he fully understands what the displaced persons are going through, particularly in the sector of health.
He stated that Cyprus recognizes the important humanitarian role of WHO in safeguarding access to services of health amid conflicts and hailed its efforts to supervise the operation of health installations in war zones.
