Health experts warn covid-19 measures cannot be loosened over festive season

Relevant News

As health experts warn that coronavirus measures cannot be loosened over the festive season with the island’s epidemiological picture being as bad as today, police have set up a pandemic hot line.

The hot line is for complaints and violation reports to be made anonymously, as of Wednesday, at 1460, 22606803 and 22606804.

A Justice Ministry announcement late on Tuesday also said the public can now report any violations of these decrees against the spread of coronavirus or can share information with the police.

In the meantime, the employers federation joined the health experts in appeals to the public to adhere to all measures aiming to curb the spread of the pandemic in Cyprus.

And that masks are compulsory for everyone aged above 12. Failure to comply carries a €300 fine.

The federation also again clarified that all shops must adhere to the rule of a maximum of one person per 10 square metres. Premises must notify shoppers how many are permitted inside at any given time and regulate access.
