The Church has lost control regarding the aspect of the priests’ vaccination since almost half of them are still not vaccinated and prelates take no measures against them.
According to Phileleftheros information, the fact that no measures are taken against the unvaccinated priests is due to the Archbishopric elections that will take place sooner or later. It is worth noting that Archbishop Chrysostomos himself referred to the state of his health and expressed the view that there are other motives behind the stance of some clerics who, as he said, are taking advantage of his bad health.
It is understood that no prelate who sees himself on the Archbishopric throne would have liked to open a front with his priests from who he expects support.
Asked about the prelates who would have liked to be on the Archbishopric throne, the answer is clear: Everyone, but those who are more certain are the Bishops of Limassol, Paphos, Tamasos and Morphou.
