The funeral of charismatic former Nicosia mayor Lellos P Demetriades who passed away on Saturday will take place on Thursday at 4pm at the Ayia Sophia Church in Strovolos.
The Nicosia Municipality is covering the funeral costs of 89-year-old Demetriades who served as mayor for 30 years. He had been facing health issues for some time.
The family will receive condolences at the church from 3pm to 4pm and the burial will take place at the Constantinos and Elenis cemetery in Aglandjia.

Among the highlights of his term in office, Demetriades who had studied law and economics in London, worked to upgrade the sewerage system of Nicosia.
