Fourteen new covid-19 cases detected on Saturday-UPDATED

The Ministry of Health on Saturday said 14 new cases of the SARS-CoV-II virus were detected out of a total of 3,813 laboratory diagnostic tests carried out.

Based on today’s data the total number of confirmed cases in Cyprus is now 1,332.

Additionally, three patients are currently being treated at the Famagusta General Hospital one of whom is in intensive care.

More specifically, the Health Ministry announced that five (5) people were tested positive from 117 tests on contacts of already confirmed cases.

Two cases were detected out of 60 samples taken after referrals from personal doctors and checks of special groups through public health centers.

One of them has a history of recent travelling abroad.

Also, 7 tested positive to Covid-19 from a total of 642 tests conducted on private initiative.

According to the Epidemiological Monitoring Unit, no individuals were tested positive out of 1490 samples taken from people who were repatriated or from passengers.

Out of 1454 tests conducted in the framework of a random testing programme, four out of 4 tests conducted in the framework of a testing programme for 10000 employees who returned to work under the phase 2 and 3 of the lifting of the restrictive measures.

And out of 47 tests were carried out by the Microbiological Labs of the General Hospitals.
