Four arrests as police investigate 14 burglaries

Police believe they are close to solving 14 burglaries in Nicosia after discovering stolen property and making four arrests.

The burglaries of homes and shops were committed in March and April.

During their investigations, police obtained testimony against a 33 year old and a 48 year old and secured arrest warrants.

As they staked out the home of the first suspect, a 29 year old exited and was stopped. Police then arrested the 33 year old in his house.

Also in the house was a 17 year old in whose possession police found a rucksack with electronic devices such as mobile phones and tablets and police are investigating whether they are stolen.

Police also found clothing that had been stolen and other evidence.

The 48 year old suspect was arrested at his house and arrest warrants obtained for the 29 and 17 year olds.

All four are suspected of conspiracy to commit and offence, burglary, theft, possession of burglary tools, malicious damage, accepting stolen goods and possession of stolen property.

Police investigations continue.
