Fast reactions by fire fighting crews caught a blaze near the Limassol district community of Foinikaria before reaching a forested area.
The fire broke out just before three in the afternoon and was contained around an hour later, as strong ground forces from the fire service and the Forestry Department were supported by aircrafts.
A forest fires red alert is in place, as a heatwave continues and temperatures persist in the 40s.
