Ayia Napa visitors are being treated to performances of traditional Cypriot dances as the municipality adapts the ‘flashmob’ concept to entertain holidaymakers.
Photos were posted by Ayia Napa mayor Yiannis Karousos on his Facebook page. “Flashmob, Cyprus-style. On a traditional bus, our dancers tour the town and disembark at random spots and begin to dance traditional dances, particularly that with the glasses,” he wrote — a reference to the dance where glasses are stacked up on a dancer’s head.
Visitors participate and enjoy this pleasant surprise, he says, adding “We are improving the tourist experience.”.
