A fire which broke out around 9.15 am near the Azinas warehouse in the Polis Chrysochous area has been fully contained after burning a hectare of reeds as well as refuse, the Cyprus News Agency said.
Thanks to the speedy response of fire fighters with the assistance of two water dropping helicopters, the fire was quickly put under control, despite the strong winds.
Fire fighters remain in the area to prevent a flare up.
